Who is Cyril Takayama and what's he all about?
It is one thing to have heard of a great magician…and yet another thing to have been told of something magical…but to see with your own eyes a real master of the craft at work is truly a genuine mystical experience. Performing artist Cyril is taking the world by storm with his cutting-edge style and unparalleled ability, and has quickly established himself as one the most ubiquitous stars of magic.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Cyril is one of the most talked about performers in the magic world today. Fascinated with magic as a small boy, Cyril became a junior member of the “Magic Castle“, an internationally respected magic authority based in Hollywood.
Cyril was quickly labeled the world’s first “Cyber Magician” as he gained international popularity by becoming the most downloaded magician on the internet. In 2007, Cyril was recognized by his peers in the magic community at the 39th Annual Academy of Magical Arts Awards in 2007, also known as the “Academy Awards of Magic.” That year, Cyril was voted “Magician of the Year”, putting him in company of past winners including icons such as David Copperfield and Seigfreid & Roy.
In the summer of 2007, Cyril embarked on a 6 month tour called The Xperience, The extravagant 2-hour live show traveled to more than 30 cities, playing to sold out crowds in 1,500 to 2,500 capacity seat theaters.
In February 2009, he completed his fifteen two-hour television magic special in Japan, a monumental accomplishment that took less than 7 short years to achieve. Cyril’s 16th primetime special airs in summer of 2011.
Most recently, Cyril broke international waters to deliver his first 3 part special which aired in over 28 countries in Asia. In partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment Networks Asia’s AXN network, Cyril executive produced and starred in the English language television series titled “Cyril, Simply Magic”, for the Asian audience. It was a ratings success in the region.
The recipient of numerous awards and countless accolades from his peers including the most recent Golden Grolla Award which he received in spring of 2011, Cyril remains committed to bringing the art of magic to a level that continues to push the envelope.

I am currently watching your show on CNN and I’m so amazed by your magic! It’s so refreshing and you’ve elevated this art form to yet another level. My 6-year-old niece [despite her being so sleepy] watched your magic trick with the chick, lemon and orange and she suddenly blurted out, ‘I want to be a magician! I want to learn magic!’ You’re inspiring. Yes, we hope to see you in the Philippines and hopefully perform a magic trick to my niece and 7-year-old nephew… your two biggest ‘small’ fans!
